At the Wellbeing Services County of North Karelia – Siun sote – we are responsible for providing public social and health care services, rescue services and environmental health care for the residents of North Karelia.
What we do
Our mission is to support people’s health and wellbeing, ensure safety in the community, and promote a good quality of life – so that North Karelia remains a safe and healthy place to live.
We organise public social and health care services, environmental health care and rescue services in North Karelia.
Nearly every resident of the region uses our services each year.
We operate in 13 municipalities: Joensuu, Kitee, Lieksa, Nurmes, Outokumpu, Kontiolahti, Ilomantsi, Juuka, Liperi, Polvijärvi, Rääkkylä, Tohmajärvi and Heinävesi.
