Navigation

  • The name and state of the service’s navigation menu button (in mobile view) are not always correctly conveyed to screen readers. (WCAG 4.1.2)
  • The service contains several skip links that do not function correctly with a keyboard or screen reader. The view is scrolled to the target, but the keyboard focus remains on the link. (WCAG 2.4.3)

Search Functions

  • On some pages, dropdown menus are used to filter service and contact infor­mation. When a selection is made, the focus is moved illogically, skipping over another menu. (WCAG 3.2.2)

Percei­va­bility

  • The service contains some decorative images without appropriate identi­fication. Additio­nally, some infor­mative images lack alter­native text. (WCAG 1.1.1)

Content

  • Some texts formatted as headings are missing proper heading tags. (WCAG 1.3.1)
  • Some links are generically named, making it unclear where they lead. Additio­nally, some arrow icons in links lack alter­native text. (WCAG 2.4.4 and 1.1.1)
  • The pages for North Karelia Central Hospital contain an inacces­sible PDF guide map, which also lacks a description. (WCAG 1.1.1, 1.3.1, 1.4.3, 4.1.2)
  • Some parts of the service contains multiple empty line breaks causing extra noise and unnecessary navigation steps for screen reader users. (WCAG 1.3.1)
  • Some PDF documents in the service have semantic markup and reading order issues that do not fully correspond to the actual content. (WCAG 1.3.1 and 1.3.2)

An effort will be made to correct the shortco­mings listed in this statement by 31.12.2025.
