Child welfare officer
Information about the service
Child welfare officers are responsible for matters related to determining a child's paternity or maternity, and they confirm the agreements related to a child's custody, housing, meeting rights and financial support.
When parents separate, they must agree on the care, housing, meeting rights and financial support of their underage child.
The child welfare officer does not make decisions on the content of the agreements, but assists parents in drawing up the agreements and ensures that the agreements are in the best interests of the child.
If the parents are unable to agree on the matters related to the child among themselves or with the help of the child welfare officer, these matters can be resolved in court.
